The Texas Friendship
Wagon Train Assn.
The Texas Friendship Wagon Train Association began in 1988 from the fragments of the old Texas Wagon Train Association, which got its start following the 1986 Texas Sesquicentennial Wagon Train. The pastime of trailriding or wagon training grew rapidly between '88 and '90, and the TFWTA bragged a membership of over 500 for a time, with members haling from 47 U.S. states, Canada, Mexico, Italy, and Germany. The club newsletter once had a circulation of over 600, including complementary copies being mailed to "sister" associations and clubs across the country.
